Guangzhou launches digital platform to simplify exports for small businesses
Update:2026-04-08    Source: South

Guangzhou has launched "Yue Trade Link" (Yuemaotong粤贸通), the city's first fully digital public service platform to support small and micro exporters of Chinese goods. The platform streamlines customs clearance, foreign currency receipt, and tax compliance online through a one-stop service.

The platform went live on April 1, targeting wholesale market vendors, self-employed traders, small factories, small trading companies, and cross-border e-commerce operators in Guangzhou, operating under China's unique market procurement trade model. This model enables small buyers, including overseas purchasers, to source goods from certified wholesale markets and consolidate shipments from multiple small vendors into a single customs declaration, making it especially suited for annual Chinese goods exports under US$150,000.

Before "Yue Trade Link" was introduced, small exporters of Chinese goods in Guangzhou often struggled with complex paperwork, high costs, and compliance risks. Now, the platform enables them to access the policy benefits of market procurement trade, including VAT exemptions, faster customs clearance, and lower entry barriers for export orders in a single step.

The current version of "Yue Trade Link" provides online management for export orders, covering business registration, order processing, foreign exchange collection and settlement, tax compliance, and supply chain coordination. Via direct bank–enterprise data links and automated reporting, users can complete filings, customs declarations, foreign currency receipts, and bookkeeping entirely from their desks.

An early user, Guangzhou Benquan Import and Export Co., Ltd. said that the company saved 450,000 yuan (approx. US$65,000) in annual taxes after using the platform. It has also achieved a 100% customs approval rate for its clothing exports and the clearance time has been reduced to under one day.

Guangzhou became a national pilot for market procurement trade in 2016. In the first quarter of 2026, the city's market procurement exports grew by 140% year on year. So far, Guangzhou has processed more than 2.4 million customs declarations of small commodities to the world.
