Guangzhou Port, one of the largest ports in terms of automobile handling capacity, exported 258,000 units of automobiles from January to September in 2023, with a year-on-year increase of 56 percent. 

A latest ranking of global container port performance in 2023 shows that Guangzhou Port ranked 8th. Chinese ports on the top 10 list included Yangshan Port of Shanghai, which ranked No. 1 and Chiwan Port of Shenzhen, which ranked 6th. The Global Container Port Performance Index 2023 was released by World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence, ranking performances of 876 container terminals in 508 ports in the world in 2023.
