A new open-air stadium located in the southernmost area of Guangzhou has been recently capped, 20 days ahead of the schedule.

Covering 186,000 square meters, the Nansha comprehensive stadium can host up to 60,000 audiences.

The stadium, inspired by traditional Chinese fan, has an asymmetrical structure that offers most of the seats a stunning view of the sea, as the stadium is built close to the shore.

The comprehensive stadium, together with a nearby natatorium, an athletes center and other related facilities make up a large urban complex for sports and culture.

Meanwhile, an intercity railway that links Nansha district of Guangzhou city, Zhuhai city and Zhongshan city is under construction near the complex. And it will connect to Guangzhou Metro Line 18, making it easier for people to access the complex.

After the complex is completed, it will help promote the leading position of Guangzhou and further cement the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
