The land utilization for the extension project of the Guangzhou Huocun to Dongguan Chang'an section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and the Guangzhou Huangcun to Huocun section of the Guangzhou-Foshan Expressway was recently approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The extension project is set to connect Guangzhou's Tianhe district and Dongguan's Chang'an town, totaling about 71.13 kilometers.

As a channel to link Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, the project is vital to Guangdong province's expressway network.
