Guangzhou's bonded logistics foreign trade up by nearly 30% in H1 2025
Update: 2025-07-29     Source: South

Guangzhou's trade volume of bonded logistics reached RMB56.65 billion, up 29.9% year-on-year in the first half of 2025, contributing 13.6% to the city's total foreign trade growth, according to customs data.

In terms of regional development, the bonded zones in Nansha District, Baiyun Airport, and Huangpu District are leading.

Nansha Bonded Zone

According to customs statistics, the combined bonded logistics foreign trade value of these three zones from January to June 2025 reached 114.936 billion yuan, marking a 42.7% year-on-year increase—27.2 percentage points higher than the city's overall growth rate. Despite accounting for 18.9% of Guangzhou's total foreign trade, these zones occupy only 0.1% of the city’s land area.
The growth of bonded logistics foreign trade in Guangzhou is mainly seen in international consolidation and distribution, bonded warehousing, bonded leasing, and bonded bunker services.

Currently, key consolidation and distribution enterprises in the city handle an annual import-export value exceeding 60 billion yuan. They have established import distribution hubs for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, aircraft parts, plastic pellets, and fruits such as durians and cherries, while also developing bonded storage facilities for bulk commodities like automobiles, refined oil, natural gas, and non-ferrous metals, alongside export consolidation hubs.
In terms of bunkering, in February this year, Guangzhou granted bonded bunker supply licenses to five additional enterprises serving internationally voyaging vessels, bringing the total number of locally licensed companies to eight. As of June, over 300 million tons of bonded marine fuel had been supplied in total.

The strong momentum in the aforementioned areas comes from advanced customs supervision, such as pre-clearance inspections for customs goods, diversification of market players, including the introduction of the private sector in bonded refueling, and innovative measures such as piloting drone cargo transportation with whole-journey smart monitoring in bonded zones.
