A tourism and entertainment program centered on the "Greater Bay Chicken," a mascot that originated from the 15th National Games, has been launched in Guangzhou, with a national tour and a major carnival scheduled for early 2026.

The "Greater Bay Chicken" (formally named "Xi Yangyang" and "Le Rongrong") began as the official mascot of the 15th National Games and Paralympic Games. Since the games concluded, a second generation of the mascot has gained popularity throughout the city. On December 28, the Guangzhou Culture Group announced the mascot's upcoming national tour and a large-scale carnival event during a launch ceremony at Baiyun Mountain's Yuntai Garden.

The tour will include appearances on CCTV's Spring Festival Gala Eve special and Guangdong Satellite TV, along with stops in cities such as Hong Kong, Harbin, and Hohhot. The mascot will also participate in flower fairs and fireworks displays during the Chinese New Year period in Guangzhou. Fan events are planned at the Guangzhou Acrobatic Art Theater in Shaheding, and a themed vehicle featured in a recent parade will make pop-up appearances.

The "Greater Bay Chicken Olympic Sports Carnival" is set to soft-open in early February 2026 at the South Square of Guangdong Olympic Sports Centre. The event will feature nine themed areas, including a mascot theater with international circus acts, a display of the Ao fish (a mythical creature from the National Games opening ceremony), dome cinema screenings, amusement rides, and cultural exhibits.
The carnival is designed to be a family-friendly event, allowing visitors to engage with the legacy of the National Games through interactive activities and themed food and retail offerings.
