The 139th Canton Fair is scheduled to open on April 15 in Guangzhou, marking another significant milestone in global trade innovation with eight new specialised zones.

Spanning a massive 1.55 million square meters with 75,500 booths, this session has attracted over 30,000 participating enterprises so far. For the first time, applications for brand booths have surpassed 6,000—a 21% increase from previous sessions—reflecting a sharp rise in high-caliber exhibitors whose research and development scores have climbed by an average of 9%.

Building on the momentum of previous high-tech showcases, the upcoming Fair is aligned with new, green, and smart industrial trends. While preserving popular areas like service robotics and smart healthcare zones, the 139th edition will introduce eight new specialized product zones across its three phases.

Phase I will debut dedicated sections for intelligent wearables, display technology, and both consumer and agricultural drones. Phase II will shift focus to sustainable living with bamboo and wood home products and integrated housing, while Phase III will highlight innovation in functional and technical fabrics.

To complement these structural changes, the Fair is revolutionizing the procurement experience through digital integration. The refreshed Canton Fair App now features cutting-edge AI tools, including AI-powered search, digital note-taking, and the "ASKME" smart assistant for instant itinerary planning.

For the first time, attendees can access booth-level precision navigation across 25 exhibition halls and track shuttle bus locations in real-time. On the ground, a new one-stop service center and a dedicated negotiation area for major global buyers will ensure that supply-demand matching is more efficient than ever before.

Beyond business transactions, the Fair is evolving into a vibrant cultural and lifestyle destination. This year’s Fair will feature an expanded activity matrix, including nine major forums on green trade and a gallery for award-winning designs. Attendees can also enjoy a revamped music & food festival, where traditional intangible cultural heritage performances will share the stage with robot dancers.

The global significance of the event remains prominent, with approximately 30 major international partners already confirmed to lead delegations, including the China-General Chamber of Commerce (USA), the China-Britain Business Council, the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce, and more.

As the 139th Canton Fair bridges traditional craftsmanship with futuristic technology, it continues to serve as a premier gateway for international buyers looking to tap into the next generation of Chinese innovation.
