Guangzhou has introduced free onboard WiFi on 38 bus routes as part of a pilot program launched by Guangzhou Bus Group.

After boarding, passengers can connect to the service by scanning a QR code or tapping the marker on the seat back. Once connected, they can also activate an "intelligent stop reminder" function, which sends an automatic alert as they approach their destination.
The system also provides real-time weather updates, along with information on attractions and commercial areas along the bus routes.

The pilot program covers routes including 59, 66, 107, 108, 126, 183, 220, 236, 246, 247, 250, 252, 259, 262, 270, 285, 297, 504, 510, 521, 527, 540, 541, 547, 563, 564, 582, 583, 836, 886, B17, B18, B4, B6 and Guang 424, as well as B3, 204 and Tourist Line 2.
The bus operator said the system is still in the trial phase and will be gradually expanded to more routes after further optimization and stable operation.
