Guangzhou Jazz Festival 2025 to stage two world-class performances this week

As part of the GBA Music Performances series, the Guangzhou Jazz Festival 2025 will light up the city with two exciting concerts this weekend, launching a three-month celebration of jazz that runs from September through November.

Silk Jazz Trio: East Meets West 

The Silk Jazz Trio presents a bold musical dialogue that bridges Eastern and Western traditions. Featuring the ancient Chinese sheng played by internationally renowned Wu Wei, alongside acclaimed ECM pianist Florian Weber and legendary NDR Big Band trumpeter Ingolf Burkhardt, this trio redefines the boundaries of jazz.

Arturo Sandoval: Jazz Master Live in Guangzhou

Ten-time Grammy winner and trumpet virtuoso Arturo Sandoval brings his electrifying Latin jazz sound to Guangzhou. He is one of the most celebrated figures in contemporary music, with over ten Grammy nominations and wins, six Billboard Music Awards, the 47th Kennedy Center Honor, and an Emmy Award for his score in the film For Love or Country.
