The German-language musical Elisabeth tells the dramatic life story of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, also known as Sisi. Since its premiere in 1992, the musical has been performed more than 9,000 times worldwide and has attracted over 12 million audience members.

Considered a classic of European musical theatre, Elisabeth combines a powerful, rock-influenced score with a distinctive storytelling approach. The story offers a fresh perspective on Sisi's search for freedom within the constraints of royal life. Themes of love, identity, and personal choice give the musical a strong emotional pull.

In its concert-style presentation, the focus is on the music and performances. Simple yet meaningful staging, elegant costumes, and large LED visuals help shape the story, while a live orchestra brings the score to life. Returning in 2026 with a new cast, Elisabeth remains a compelling choice for both first-time viewers and longtime fans.
