At a press conference on Oct 25, 2021, Guangzhou reported that the city's GDP increased 9.9 percent in the first three quarters of 2021.
The average annual per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents increased by 7.9 percent and 10.1 percent year-on-year respectively, which was higher than the economic growth rate. The general public budget revenue from the Guangzhou area was 615.58 billion yuan and the local general public budget revenue was 172.16 billion yuan, with an average annual increase of 4.4 percent and 5.4 percent respectively. The local general public budget expenditure was 295.30 billion yuan, with an average annual growth of 11 percent.
